The Year of the Museum is a time to celebrate the many ways that museums enrich our lives and our communities.

It also represents the beginning of a major national effort to encourage all Americans to experience, celebrate, and support the museums in their communities.

Kid City, The Children's Museum of Tampa is supported by earned income and is sponsored in part by the City of Tampa, the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, the State of Florida, Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, and The Florida Arts Council. The museum also receives donations from individuals, corporations and foundations.
